Big Ed has duped millions, but they’re losing their grip

National School Choice Week is wrapping up, and while headlines buzz with proclamations and policy tweaks, the real story is simply this: no one is as qualified to educate your children as you are.

No one cares about their future more than you.

No one knows their strengths, quirks, and abilities better than you.

No one is as invested in tailoring learning to fit them perfectly as you.

Parents have been sold a myth for generations by Big Education. They’ve told you that only state-approved experts can teach kids properly, and that without a teaching certificate and a union-backed system, you're somehow unqualified.

It simply isn’t true.

The truth is that you'll always be the most qualified person to guide your child's education, no matter your formal degree, income, or educational background. You’re already the most invested in your child, and that counts for a whole lot, but you also have access right now, in your pocket, to more knowledge than any previous generation in history.

The entire sum of human learning is literally a query away. Of course you can do it!

Need to brush up on algebra? There’s a website or an app for that.

Want a deep dive into history without the sanitized spin? Primary sources and podcasts are just a click away. (And I know I may be biased, but I think our America’s History books and curriculum are pretty top-notch).

If you don’t know something, you can learn alongside your child, search online resources, connect with communities of families walking the same path, or select someone you know and trust to help teach it.

And you definitely don’t have to try to replicate school at home with a rigid 8-3 schedule. If you’ve got a few focused hours a day and an internet connection, then you’ve got what you need to homeschool your kids.

Even when time is tight or life gets chaotic, you're still the best person to chart the course

You are uniquely able to set priorities, spot when something's not clicking, and pivot without waiting for an approving body to give the ok. And because there are now as many education paths as there are kids—homeschool co-ops, online academies, micro-schools, hybrid programs, unschooling, apprenticeships—there is something out there that fits every family, and every child.

The public education system is in its death throes, and they’re scared to death that you’re going to find out.

Enrollment has been dropping steadily (down over 1.2 million students from 2019 to 2023) with projections showing up to another 4 million leaving by 2031 as more families walk away. Districts all over the nation are hemorrhaging kids to alternatives, and the trend shows no sign of reversing.

Homeschooling has exploded from around 3% of kids pre-pandemic to estimates of 5-6% or more; sometimes up to triple the old norm

That's millions of families saying "no thanks" to the factory model, and that’s a win for a whole lot of kids.

The outcomes are getting harder and harder for Big Education to hide, so of course they’re doubling down. But the truth is out there.

Homeschooled kids consistently outperform their public-school peers—typically scoring 15-25 (sometimes 30) percentile points higher on standardized tests. The coolest part is that this holds regardless of parents' education level or income.

It turns out, when learning is personalized, interest-driven, and free from one-size-fits-all mandates, kids thrive.

We’ve been hammering this message home for years, working hard to dismantle the idea that kids need institutional conformity to become well-adjusted and well-educated adults. We know that true socialization comes from family bonds, real community, and voluntary interactions—not forced peer groups and state-mandated molds.

We even wrote a book about school choice a few years ago!

We’ve always emphasized that parents are the ultimate experts on their own kids, and education should empower individuals, not churn out compliant cogs.

As this year’s National School Choice Week starts to wrap up, I want to help parents remember that exercising education freedom doesn’t mean that they’re not "opting out" of education. It just means that they’re opting into something better.

The public system is dying, and you don’t have to let it drag your kids down as it goes.

You can build something tailored, honest, and empowering right now, right at home.

Our done-for-you bundles are on sale now and are perfect for parents ready to take back the education reins for their family. Core stories on liberty and economics; an America's History series for unspun truth; guidebooks on logical fallacies, biases, true conspiracies, courageous heroes, and more; plus an entire Tuttle Twins Academy for teens.

These tools help kids learn how to think critically, question government authority, and stand free and proud even as powerful forces conspire to shrink them to a one-size-fits-all view of the world.

Your kids deserve an education rooted in real values and real freedom—not some top-down, NWO-approved, nihilistic version of things that the powerful elites are peddling as truth and enlightenment.

I’m proud to make resources that help you in the vital work you’re doing to build us all a free, prosperous, and peaceful future.

Thanks for bringing us along.
