Seventeen years ago last week, Ron Paul stood on the House floor and delivered what I believe to be one of the most powerful speeches ever given in Congress: the "What If" speech.
In just a few minutes, he asked the questions almost no one before or since has dared to ask.
What if our foreign policy has been deeply flawed for a century?
What if endless interventions abroad create the very enemies we claim to fight?
What if the real threat to our security isn't overseas, but the erosion of our liberties right here at home?
He said that the proper role of government is to protect our liberties—and nothing more.
Not to make us "better" people; not to protect us from ourselves; and certainly not to shield agencies like the FBI, CIA, or the presidency from scrutiny.
The Constitution, he reminded us, was written to protect individuals from the government—not the other way around. He warned that we must return to that principle and the rule of law, or face dire consequences.
His message was important then. It feels even more urgent now.
As parents raising kids in this brave new world, we have a responsibility to teach our kids the truth about the world they live in. They have to learn about the history of this country, so they can recognize patterns of abuse and see threats to liberty and prosperity for what they are.
I happen to believe that the best way to do that is through stories that kids actually care about.
That's why the Tuttle Twins books and curriculum exists—to give children a framework to think critically about freedom, responsibility, government overreach, and the lessons of history, all taught in a way that is actually interesting and engaging.
Our America’s History resources are perfect for this.
They bring inspiring stories from our nation's past to life by showing kids how liberty was won, what happens when it's lost, and why we must defend it today. With engaging narratives and accompanying curriculum, they spark real family discussions about the Constitution, individual rights, and the dangers of unchecked power.
This is the kind of education that helps kids take the lessons of history and apply them to the things they see happening in the world today. It helps them grow into the kind of adults who ask questions like Ron Paul did.
Right now, we're running a Presidents Day Sale on our History Bundles to make it easy for families to get started.

The questions Ron Paul asked 17 years ago are still waiting for answers.
In the meantime, the government just keeps going full steam ahead toward the fast-approaching cliff, and our kids are the ones who will have to live with the consequences once it crashes.
But what if we raised a generation that actually understands and defends liberty?
What if they finish the work that the Pauls and Massies of the world started?
What if it doesn’t end in disaster, but in a peaceful, prosperous, and free world?
That’s the future I want for my kids, and it’s a future worth fighting for.
I suspect you agree.
